Who we are

Innovation is a team of around 30 exceptionally dedicated individuals, with a passion for client service and professionalism. We are car-fuel tax, payroll and employee benefits experts, focused on client service, project management and solution delivery. We work closely with our clients to turn our award-winning solutions into reality and save them and their employees millions of pounds every year.

Innovation History

We were originally set up by three former colleagues and friends from EY, Deloitte and PwC who had a common dream of delivering alternative thinking and solutions together with great client service but at an affordable and competitive cost.

Peter Moroz

Managing Partner & Director MA Oxon ATII FCA

Peter is Innovation’s leading expert on car tax matters, with a particular focus on employee communication and delivery of savings to clients.

Peter is a member of the Executive Board.

Peter is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Chartered Tax Adviser and sits on the Technical Committee for employment taxes at the Chartered Institute of Taxation where he helps review and comment on new law.

After graduating from Oxford, Peter grew and led large teams of people in specialist employment tax consultancies at PwC, Andersens, Deloitte & Touche and Ernst & Young.

He has helped shape the policies of dozens of large companies to ensure they meet best practice standards and are as efficient as possible from a tax viewpoint.

Peter has written many articles on a variety employment tax issues published in Taxation and other leading journals over the last ten years and has successfully represented clients at Tax Tribunal.

In his spare time Peter is a keen tennis player and enjoys wild swimming.

John Messore

Managing Partner & Director MA Oxon ATII ACA

John was part the driving force behind the development of Innovation’s on-line mileage capture system and also came up with the original idea of our private fuel buyout solution when he was Head of Tax at Kraft Foods.

John is a member of the Executive Board.

After graduating from Oxford University with a Mathematics degree, John qualified as an ACA with Arthur Andersen before moving to what is now PwC.

He then moved to Industry where he has been Head of Tax at Bass, Kraft Foods and AT&T specialising in Tax, Treasury and Statutory Accounts, but with particular emphasis on Payroll Taxes and VAT.

As well as writing regularly in Tax publications, John has experience of Tax Tribunals, sits on the ICAEW Employment Taxes and NIC technical committee, the CIOT Corporate Tax subcommittee and was regional Chairman of the Midlands ACT.

Outside of work John likes to keep generally fit, enjoys rock-climbing and he recently gained his motorbike licence.

Kate Cliff

Kate joined Innovation as a Partner when the company was set up in 2007 and is now on the Executive Board.

An experienced Operations Manager with over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Kate oversees all operational activity for the business.

Kate manages the Innovation Centre, ensuring the highest standard of service delivery. Her passion is helping people develop to their full potential, thus benefiting the individual, the team and the wider business.

After juggling three children, Kate enjoys keeping fit and training for half marathons.

Claire has been with Innovation since 2011 and is a member of the Executive Board.Having previously spent 20 years in the pensions industry working for two large life offices.  Primarily specialising in process and people management across pre-sale and back-office administration functions.Claire is a specialist for implementing some of our service offerings and post-sale processing with a particular focus around compliance, GDPR, and data privacy.

Claire’s interests include walking and supporting Liverpool Football.

James has many years’ experience in a variety of finance positions for multi-national corporations. Areas of experience include tax & treasury, investment analysis, insurance, cost accounting, audit & controls, pensions (as a trustee director).

James looks after a wide variety of clients.

In his spare time James is most likely to be found riding the by-ways of the countryside on a motorcycle.

David’s hobbies include football, golf and holidaying.

Joshua graduated from Aberystwyth university with a degree in ‘Astrophysics’ and joined Innovation from Deloitte in early 2017. Since joining, he has taken over a portfolio of clients and was heavily involved in the transition to GDPR compliance under the new legislation.

Outside of work he plays for a charity rugby team and is also a keen marksman.

Mark has had a 20+ year career in sales & marketing – mainly in the technology sector, where he held various senior sales & marketing positions.

Mark now leads Innovation’s sales & marketing division.

He is also a published author on the role of telematics in car insurance.

Outside of his family, his interests (obsession) are cooking and Sale Sharks rugby.
